Shopbop is seeking an experienced publicist to support PR campaigns that increase brand awareness for both Shopbop and our brother site, East Dane, domestically and in key global markets. This role will help support the global communication and social media efforts with tactical communication and strategic public relations initiatives as well as manage and be directly responsible for the department’s administrative tasks. This position reports to the Head of PR and supports brand partnerships and fashion messaging that influence media coverage and engage our core customer.

Responsibilities
  • Directly responsible for overseeing and executing all administrative departmental tasks within Shopbop guidelines
  • Leverage existing and establish professional relationships with members of the media (national, regional, local and global, trade, business, general and blogs), to secure positive and increased coverage for Shopbop and East Dane
  • Serve as a primary media contact responsible for responding to and managing media inquiries and requests
  • Delegate to and assist in management of select local and International PR and Marketing Agencies
  • Draft statements and respond to media inquiries on behalf of Shopbop and East Dane
  • Coordinate and facilitate media requests, interviews and photo shoots with relevant company spokespeople
  • Draft, edit and disseminate press releases and other relevant PR materials as needed
  • Work closely with Head of PR in management and execution of PR events globally
  • Work collaboratively with the Head of PR on Ideation and execution for news-worthy initiatives, such as capsule collections and brand partnerships
  • Work with Head of PR to develop yearly global PR strategy
  • Suggest ideas/initiatives to drive customer growth and brand awareness in key global and domestic markets
  • Manage and execute relevant influencer partnerships for Shopbop and East Dane
  • Provide monthly press results and analysis of coverage
  • Work closely with fashion team to identify and secure appropriate fashion personalities to feature on site
  • Collaborate with buying team on vendor and product priorities for PR placements, campaigns and social media

Overview of Responsibilities

Performance Marketing:
  • Partner with Search Channel Manager to execute East Dane Search Programs: continually iterate and partner with Search Team on keyword campaign, as well as manage the gathering of relevant seasonal and product-specific keywords with cross-functional business partners on East Dane
  • Partner with Affiliate Channel Manager to execute East Dane Affiliate Programs: manage the execution and delivery of all brand creative assets for Affiliate Partners, weekly Affiliate creative assets needs for advertising partners to support, support Affiliate Channel Manager in program development and execution to drive new customer acquisition, coordinate and execute Monthly Affiliate Newsletter content and messaging
  • Coordinate & manage execution of all East Dane Display Programs with Channel Manager: own monthly Digital Display media planning to ensure appropriate messaging, coordinate the execution and delivery of all brand creative assets for Digital Display
  • Coordinate & manage Email Marketing content and execution with Channel Manager: coordination of content within East Dane Marketing Calendar, project manage all email marketing efforts ensuring timeliness and accuracy of content, review all email proofs and click-throughs prior to consumer deployment, identify new opportunities to continually improve performance of Email Marketing
  • Support Head of Men’s Marketing in development of new creative opportunities for East Dane to drive continued success in performance marketing channels: ie. New Email Creative Templates, Affiliate Newsletters, New Customer Acquisition, etc
  • Support Head of Men’s Marketing on all digital product and program launches and facilitate execution, including but not limited to: project coordination and management of necessary tasks, meeting attendance as required, to own detailed meeting summary notes, testing & QA processes prior to launch
Brand Marketing:
  • Own & manage East Dane’s Annual Marketing Calendar
  • Support execution of all major East Dane brand campaign media plans: coordinating new media vendor opportunities & stay on-top of evolving trends and first-to-market opportunities, coordinating business proposals & creative briefs, day-to-day Partnership Relationship management, creative asset management to ensure materials are delivered on-time, management of program approvals within Amazon Tools
  • Support & manage execution of all annualized media partnerships for East Dane
  • Own & manage quarterly competitive review of best-in-class campaigns & innovative media programs relevant to East Dane
  • Support additional brand marketing efforts as needed on the business for East Dane
Brand Marketing Partnership:
  • Support execution all brand partnerships for East Dane Brand: partnership Relationship management & development of SOW, develop KPIs and metrics to measure success, tracking & Tagging implementation, asset collection & delivery to brand partners, management of program approvals within Amazon Tools
  • Coordinate & support execution of all East Dane co-op marketing programs & efforts
  • Manage & own quarterly competitive reviews of best-in-class partnership marketing programs relevant to East Dane
  • Support additional partnership marketing efforts as needed on the business for East Dane
Brnad & Partnership Marketing Reporting:
  • Manage execution of post reviews of all East Dane brand partnership efforts to recap success: measure success against the KPIs set for each program and focus learnings on lift in Brand Awareness & New Customer Acquisition
  • Gather and send out weekly internal summary of key trends & relevant articles to support brand marketing development for East Dane
  • Own tracking of all Brand & Partnership Marketing analytics reports for East Dane: support all analytics efforts to help identify opportunities for improvement to programs, and identify new opportunities for business growth, learn and support deep diving into data to derive insights to help re-focus marketing efforts, including but not limited to: (1) Performance Channel Marketing Reports, (2) New Customer Acquisition Reports, (3) Top 10 Cities Reports, (4) Additional Reports to support insights into the East Dane business

Additional Administrative & Misc Repsonsibilities:
  • Support needs involving all East Dane marketing legal contracts, ensuring compliance with all Amazon policies and requirements
