    Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Software Development Engineer to join our team of talented software engineers to work on Amazon’s Third Party Software infrastructure.

    The AWS Third Party Software Team owns making it easy for Amazon engineers to use open source software. From tools and services to bring third party software from outside Amazon into our systems and services, to ensuring this software is secure and up to date, the Third Party Software Team is dedicated to delivering on-demand, simple and secure solutions.

    As a software development engineer, you will design, develop, and support world class services and applications used to deliver software that gets released to millions of customers. You will work with remarkable engineers, business leaders, and other talented engineering teams while you design, architect, and code robust and stable solutions.

    Experience with industry best practices for package and dependency management solutions for popular programming languages will be of benefit to the successful candidate for this position.     Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
    • Equivalent experience to a Bachelor's Degree based or 3 years of work experience for every 1-year of education
    • 4+ years professional experience in software development
    • Proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language such as C, C++, C#, Java, or Perl

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with native package and dependency management tooling for one or more programming languages (Maven, PyPI, RubyGems, npm, etc.).
    • Should be genuinely excited about technology, have a strong interest in learning about and playing with the latest technologies, and be a self-starter and motivated.
    • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and asynchronous architectures.
    • Strong understanding of system and application performance characteristics.
    • Excellent communication, sharp analytical abilities and proven design skills.
    • Motivation to drive tasks to completion and take ownership of projects.
