Lab126 began in 2004 as a subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc., originally creating the best-selling Kindle family of products. Since then, we have produced groundbreaking devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV and Amazon Echo. What will you help us create?
You will be a key member of the HW sensor architecture team for evaluating design and performance of sensor systems on a consumer hardware product. In this role you will be working with a team of EE, product design, software, wireless and optics engineers to define and implement characterization and test plans, provide feedback to the product teams. You must be a self-starter, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. In this role, you will:
- Implement characterization and test plans. - Own overall validation of sensors systems. - Work closely with design team and vendor teams to evaluate and compare sensor architectures. - Be able to debug Hardware, Software and Firmware.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Optics, Physics or related field. - 7+ years of relevant experience in sensor technologies related to portable electronics/consumer devices. - Experience with optical measurements and test equipment. - Experience gathering data and analyzing results. - Experience scripting skills (Matlab/Python/R). - Experienced user of lab equipment like scopes, spectrometer, integrating sphere. - Experienced with professional documentation. - Able to travel domestically and internationally for factory support or visit vendors.
- In-depth understanding of signal-to-noise ratio, budget allocation, tolerance analysis, digital signal processing, linear algebra, FFT, statistics, scattering and diffraction theory.
- Hands-on experience with characterization and test of at least 2 of the following types of sensors: 3D time-of-flight, stereovision, inertial measurement units, and mmWave radar. - Knowledge of manufacturing test flow, DFT, DFM process is a plus. - MS or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Optics, Physics or related field
