  • Job Description

Alexa is the name of the Amazon cloud-based voice service that powers Echo devices, the pioneering Amazon AI designed around your voice. Our vision is to build a computer in the cloud that is completely controlled by your voice. That vision can only be achieved if we are able to maintain an excellent customer experience as new features are developed by Amazon teams and external developers.

We are looking for an entrepreneurial, experienced, creative, and visionary Senior Product Manager to join our team. In this high profile role, you will help define and champion the vision for Alexa as it relates to making it simple for our customers to move between Alexa experiences, identify and build new cross-organizational products that help Alexa move towards this vision, and then measure how effectively Alexa is tracking to it. You will collaborate with numerous product, design, user research, development, voice technology experts and other internal and executive teams to identify, define, and implement solutions to raise the bar on the Alexa customer experience, measured by an outsized impact on customers' interest in and engagement with Alexa. Success requires taking an understanding of how people relate to each other and translating that into product experience, understanding and navigating rapidly evolving product and technology requirements holistically, and synthesizing complex technical capabilities into a cohesive and visionary product narrative. In this role, you will be on point to deliver strategic customer experience features from definition to launch. This includes working on the initial definition of the aspirational customer experience, getting buy-in, and translating that vision into actionable and discrete roadmap items. You will develop and drive requirements back to a number of engineering teams and partner with them to deliver exceptional products.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree with a business related discipline
    • 5+ years of professional experience in a product management role (or other coordinative role involving responsibility for prioritization, requirements, and design) for technical products with technical customers
    • 5+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time.
    • 2+ years of experience delivering consumer software products and services.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • MBA or Master’s degree, psychology, sociology or a related discipline strongly preferred
    • Experience with voice-based products and technology, particularly related to voice design or personification
    • Experience delivering programmatic goals and leading complex projects
    • Superb verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives and evangelizing to stakeholders
    • Passion for creating innovative solutions for consumers
    • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive actions
    • High attention to detail including precise and effective customer communications and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
    • Proven track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
    • Demonstrated ability to deliver results while working in complex environments
    • Demonstrated ability to deliver both strategic and tactical results from inception to completion
    • Excellent planning and execution skills. Meticulous and methodical, detail oriented with experience diving deep and asking the right questions
