    We're looking for an outstanding security engineer who combines superb technical, research and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get complex hardware, software and other mission-critical systems up and running quickly and effectively. This person must be comfortable working with a team of top-notch software, hardware and applied science engineers.



    Export Controls

    This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.

    Basic Qualifications

    • MS in Computer Science or equivalent desired
    • Experience in implementing security solutions at the business unit level
    • Understanding of general system security engineering practices: authn/authz, code review/static analysis, penetration testing
    • Active general industry knowledge of the latest hardware/software vulnerabilities and exploits
    • Proficient in C/C++; ability to read C/C++ code, find vulnerabilities, and implement secure and functional code fixes
    • General knowledge of cryptography concepts such as hash functions, symmetric/asymmetric encryption, public/secret key cryptography
    • Experience with embedded system concepts and hardware interfaces, such as, JTAG, UART, SPI, I2C, ROM, Microcode, Custom ASIC/FPGAs
    • x86 and ARM chipset and firmware security (TPM, UEFI, TrustZone, Secure/Measured Boot, JTAG, PCIe)

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Hands-on experience with hardware lab equipment: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
    • Hands-on experience with white/black-box testing of electronics, including side-channel attack assessment
    • In-depth knowledge of the latest hardware/software vulnerabilities and exploits in the automotive and/or related industries
    • Experience with CAN bus & RF link security analysis
    • Experience with aerospace security frameworks and certifications
    • Experience with the application of threat modeling or other risk identification techniques
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent leadership skills and teamwork skills
