Amazon needs someone to build the front-end for a toolset to optimize the engineering processes for all of Amazon's storage and compute hardware. This is a large-scale product that affects millions of customers and developers all over the world who rely on our storage, compute, and virtualized services via Amazon Web Services.
    The ideal candidate for this role will be an innovative self-starter. You will work with engineers, TPMs and PMs across the organization as well to deliver an amazing experience to your users. You will use your experience implementing complex web front-ends using various languages and tools.     What you will do: You will be a member of the team that is developing a tool-set to increase the effiency and operation of AWS Hardware Engineering. Your area of ownership will be the front-end user experience as well as interfacing with the back-end systems to render various forms and data in a scalable and accessible manner. You will recommend product improvements based on your experience and implementation of operational metrics that shows what users are actually doing with our systems.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 2 years relevant work experience, or 4+ years relevant work experience
    • Proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language such as C, C++, Java, or Perl
    • Experience building and designing front-end web applications
    • Experience with testing methodologies (unit, Scrum)

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Designing Single-page and Multi-page web applications
    • User-experience optimization for high-conversion forms, data-driven tables, calm design principles, material design principles
    • Building responsive web-pages for multiple screen sizes
    • Experience with MVVM/MVC libraries like Backbone.js/Knockout.js
    • Experience building SPA using frameworks like Angular
    • Experience with Conditional rendering libraries like React/Vue/Polymer
    • Experience developing Html Web-Components
    • Experience with state-management using frameworks like Redux.
    • Experience developing Progressive Web Apps and exposure to wasm.
    • Experience with CSS libraries like Bootstrap, Materialize, and familiar with CSS3 grid/flexbox
    • Knowledge of REST-API and GraphQL
    • Web-tooling and packaging using (babel/webpack/grunt/npm/uglify).
    • Testing user-experience and front-end test design
    • Designing and implementing operation metrics to see usage and operational issues
    • Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
    • Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
