We're looking for an outstanding engineer who combines superb technical and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. This person must be comfortable working with a team of top-notch engineers/developers and collaborating across engineering teams. We’re looking for people who innovate and love solving hard problems. This mechanical engineering position will be a part of a small team working on developing and testing strategic UAV technology.
The ideal candidate will have a foundation in mechanical engineering and CAD, but with breadth of experience relevant to prototyping experimental technology, and designing and running tests to qualify the costs and benefits of each project. Experience in aerodynamics, acoustics, programming, data acquisition, and materials are valued.
Export License Control This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.
BSc/MSc in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
Knowledge in modern CAD software
Experience designing and building prototypes
Experience in communicating with technical teams to collect requirements, describe product features and technical designs
2+ years of related experience is preferred
Knowledge in Python, Matlab or equivalent scripting/scientific programming languages
Knowledge in aerospace-related instrumentation and lab experiments.
Finite Element Analysis and AeroAcoustics/Acoustics a plus.
