    The AWS Infrastructure organization is looking for a passionate, results-oriented leader to manage the DC Optimization Planning team. Change is a constant at AWS and this team owns optimizing space and power at AWS data centers for the data center capacity planning organization. In this role, you will work closely with planning, operations, engineering, and software development teams to deliver high quality and robust space and power capacity planning processes and tools.

    Successful candidates will be excellent people managers with a history of building high-performing teams. They will be analytical with excellent written and verbal communication skills. They thrive in collaborative, cross-functional environments and work backwards from the needs of internal and external customers to create solutions that work for upstream and downstream teams as well as data center capacity planning.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree
    • 8-10 years + of product management, program management, and/or capacity planning experience.
    • 3+ years managing direct reports
    • Knowledgeable in technology development best practices (such as Agile), and product management methodology.
    • Experience leading process improvement, systems development, and project management across cross-functional teams.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously, willingness to roll up your sleeves.
    • Ability to think and react in a high energy, fast paced environment.
    • Excellent written and verbal communications across technical and non-technical stakeholders and experience presenting to senior executives.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Dual education background - business and tech/quantitative discipline.
    • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data (including SQL) and metrics to back up assumptions, evaluate outcomes and challenge conventional wisdom.
    • Data center planning experience
