    We're looking for an outstanding Engineer who combines superb technical, research and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. This person must be comfortable working with a team of top-notch developers and collaborating with our research teams. We’re looking for someone who innovates, and loves solving hard problems!     Key Tasks:

    - Serve as technical lead in the on-going development of the core foundation that runs that software up which applications are built
    - Participation in the design and implementation of a software simulation architecture that can fully model, exercise, test, and analyze drone operation
    - Close collaboration with on-aircraft scientists and engineers to ensure a safe and efficient unmanned aircraft (UA) hardware and software architecture, as well as a cohesive on/off UA relationship


    Export Control License: This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
    • Strong knowledge of C/C++ app development on UNIX/LINUX
    • Strong fundamentals on algorithm development
    • Experience with hardware/software integration and real time communication
    • Strong mathematical/statistical fundamentals
    • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Masters or PhD in Comp Sci, Mathematics or Physics
    • Experience with building and testing control systems on autonomous systems
    • Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers at scale
    • Knowledge of software engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle
    • Experience in communicating with management, as well as technical and business teams to collect requirements, describe product features and technical designs
