As a technical writer on Prime Air, you will be working with engineering, technicians, and program management to define, develop, and evolve technical work instructions, procedures, and other documentation used by the team to maintain the Prime Air unmanned aircraft system (UAS). The successful candidate will have a demonstrated history of developing content in programs that are iterating quickly. Prior experience with developing and using mechanisms to enable sourcing content from a wide range of inputs to produce a consistent output is highly desired.
Export Control License This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.
Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, or relevant technical field and 5+ years of technical writing experience.
Demonstrated ability to write clearly and with grammatical accuracy.
Excellent communications skills including, presenting, editing, and writing as well as accuracy and attention to detail required.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, complex projects with tight deadlines and time-critical deliverables through their entire life cycle
Experience interviewing experts, such as mechanics, software developers, or engineers, to elicit essential content.
Experience using multiple authoring tools.
Prior experience with preparing graphic designs including selecting photographs, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material.
FAA Airframe & Powerplant License
Familiarity with one or more compiled or scripting languages, such as C#, Python, Java, or Ruby.
Prior experience managing the review and release process for original and revised documents and change requests as a document administrator
Experience developing and delivering training.
Track record of improving processes and tools, contributing to the effectiveness of the program and operational efficiency.
Experience rewriting and translating engineering instructions and manuals into content intended for a variety of audiences.
