    What you’ll be doing:
    As part of the Amazon technology team at Fabric, you’ll be managing a team of desktop support, and a team of devops/sysadmins. You’re the hands-on leader of a small group that ensures the entire organization has the computer, networking and software resources they need to do their jobs. You’ll report to the CTO and have a large hand in shaping technology policies, procedures and practices. Fabric.com is an end-to-end e-commerce and fulfillment center, and this role covers IT support for everyone at Fabric.

    This role is responsible for overseeing network, desktop and production infrastructure management and support. It’s a unique and challenging role that offers both technical depth and breadth along with a broad scope-of-influence to lead and manage people and infrastructure at Fabric. You will mentor both the desktop support teams and the sysadmins, providing them direction on projects, processes, methods and tools across all of Fabric.

    Responsibilities:
    • One-on-one management, mentoring and coaching of direct reports
    • Team management of workflow and work allocation
    • Triage and prioritization of incoming requests
    • Software and hardware inventory and purchasing management and approval
    • Network planning and management
    • Security policy management and oversight
    • Infrastructure metrics and reporting

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field (e.g. Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering)
    • 5+ years relevant work experience in IT infrastructure or desktop support. 2+ years managing IT staff.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of network infrastructure
    • Demonstrated knowledge of information security policies and practical application
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is a nice-to-have.
    • An understanding of core internet technologies, including DHCP, DNS, mail transport, TCP/IP and network file systems.
    • CISCO experience and certifications.
    • Certifications in Unix/Linux System support and/or Microsoft Windows system support.
    • Previous help desk / technical support experience and/or previous Service Delivery and Service Level Management experience.
    • Experience in procurement, inventory and asset management of IT equipment, as well as the overall IT lifecycle.
