    The successful candidate will become a trusted adviser to our customers and will work with AWS sales, business development, solution architects, and our IoT service team to drive IoT-related adoption and revenue. This will include showcasing service such as AWS IoT, Cognito, API Gateway, and Lambda.
    AWS Global Professional Services is looking for an experienced IoT consultant with deep technical expertise in their specialty area and the ability to travel internationally as required to support our customers. They will have a strong combination of relevant industry and technical experience plus exceptional people skills. They will be fast learners and serve as trusted advisors for our customer’s architects and IT leaders. They will collaborate with multiple AWS engineering teams to introduce and refine new platform web services for our Healthcare and Life Sciences (HCLS) customers. The team will harvest, package and publish HCLS best practices and repeatable offerings to AWS partners to accelerate their transition to a cloud based IT model using AWS.
    Responsibilities and Abilities include:

    Expertise: Collaborate with AWS field sales, pre-sales, training and support teams to help partners and customers architect end-to-end solutions using AWS IoT and Mobile Services. In addition help customers develop an overall IoT and Mobile ecosystem engagement strategy. Experience developing IoT and Mobile solutions and possessing a passion for writing code.
    Solutions: Deliver on-site technical engagements with partners and customers. This includes participating in pre-sales on-site visits, understanding customer IoT requirements that drives AWS platform adoption for HCLS customers. Define and deliver on-site training sessions and technical engagements with partners and customers.
    Thought Leadership: Provide enterprise thought leadership on IoT solutions that benefit customers through the use of AWS Services. Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates. Contribution to external publications such as AWS Blogs, Whitepapers and Reference architectures. Also capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS community.
    Delivery: Lead high quality delivery of a variety of deeply technical engagements with partners and global customers, enabling breakthrough business outcomes. Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS. Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams and support.


    Basic Qualifications

    • Functional understanding of one or more relevant industry regulations and standards such as HIPAA, GxP, CDISC, and other industry regulatory, security and compliance frameworks
    • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
    • 3+ years experience with tier 1 HCLS organizations
    • 7+ years of experience of IT platform implementation in a highly technical and analytical role
    • 7+ years of experience in application architecture, database architecture, and networking
    • Understanding of emerging IoT and Mobile technologies and communications protocols
    • Customer facing skills to represent AWS well within the customer’s environment and drive discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices, project management and risk mitigation
    • Hands-on experience leading the design, development and deployment of business software at scale or current hands on technology infrastructure, network, compute, storage, and virtualization experience
    • Integration of AWS cloud services with on premise technologies from Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, HP, SAP etc.
    • Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements (e.g. security, privacy, SOX, HIPAA etc.)
    • Ability to travel to client locations as required

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Thorough understanding of several relevant industry regulations and standards such as HIPAA, HL7, CDISC, 21CFR Part 11, IDMP, HITRUST, GDPR, and other industry regulatory, security and compliance frameworks
    • Computer Science or Math background preferred
    • Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering or Math
    • Knowledge of MQTT COAP and other lightweight protocols
    • Knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, Greengrass, FreeRTOS)
    • Intermediate/advanced knowledge of the cloud services, market segments, customer base and industry verticals
    • Prior experience in a technical role within a services organization
    • Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences
    • High level of comfort communicating effectively across internal and external organizations
    • Understanding of application, server, and network security and compliance requirements such as FedRAMP and HIPAA
    • Demonstrated experience leading or developing high quality, enterprise scale software products using a structured system development life cycle
    • Experience in one or more specific IoT / embedded / M2M industry (i.e. home automation, business automation, health, asset tracking, smart utilities, etc.)
    • Experience with embedded or real-time operating systems, and/or driver/kernel development
    • Experience programming applications backed by cloud services
    • Strong practical Linux and Windows-based systems administration skills in a Cloud or Virtualized environment
