    The AWS Builder Tools team is looking for a Software Support Engineer Manager who will directly manage first level support for all of Amazon and AWS's software development tools and services. Your team will support the software lifecycle for the company - build, test, automation, deployment, issue management and other tools that thousands of Amazon developers use every day.

    You will own an existing team of support engineers, and will be given autonomy to hire, grow, and lead the direction of the support organization within Developer Tools. You will work directly with engineering teams to understand their service, provide exceptional customer support and continually iterate on improving the customer experience. Comfort in a highly technical and dynamic environment will ensure success.

    The ideal candidate will have a record of driving projects to improve support-related processes and the technical support experience, be passionate about the growth and success of the Amazon and AWS customers, and possess strong verbal and written communication skills.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Science / Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
    • Direct experience with people management of support roles

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, systems administration and or support engineering
    • Detail-oriented with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability.
    • Previous experience in which high levels of initiative, judgment, and tact has been demonstrated.
    • Proven ability to operate in a fast paced and dynamic environment, successfully handle multiple competing priorities and possess a high degree of flexibility and professionalism.
