    At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we’re hiring highly technical cloud computing architects to collaborate with our customers and partners on key engagements. Our consultants will develop and deliver proof-of-concept projects, technical workshops, and support implementation projects. These professional services engagements will focus on customer solutions such as IoT, Mobile devices, and data with deep focus on AWS IoT, Cognito, API Gateway and Lambda. This role will specifically focus on Data processing capabilities and helping our customers and partners to remove the constraints that prevent our customers from leveraging their data to develop business insights.
    Professional Services engage in a wide variety of projects for customers and partners, providing collective experience from across the AWS customer base and are obsessed about strong success for the Customer. Our team collaborates across the entire AWS organization to bring access to product and service teams, to get the right solution delivered and drive feature innovation based upon customer needs.

    Responsibilities include:
    • Expertise - Collaborate with AWS field sales, pre-sales, training and support teams to help partners and customers learn and use AWS services such as AWS IoT, Cognito, API Gateway, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB NoSQL, and Relational Database Service (RDS).
    • Solutions - Deliver on-site technical engagements with partners and customers. This includes participating in pre-sales on-site visits, understanding customer requirements, creating consulting proposals and creating and / or extending packaged IoT service offerings.
    • Delivery - Engagements include short on-site projects proving the use of AWS services to support new distributed computing solutions that often span private cloud and public cloud services. Engagements will include migration of existing applications and development of new applications using AWS cloud services.

    Basic Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:
    • 5+ years of experience in application architecture, database architecture, and networking
    • At least 5 of years of experience delivering technology solutions to Oil & Gas global customers to enable technologies and cloud services.
    • Experience working with external or internal customers to implement large-scale solutions
    • Understanding of emerging IoT and Mobile technologies and communications protocols
    • Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences
    • High level of comfort communicating effectively across internal and external organizations
    • Technical degree required; Computer Science or Math background highly desired
    • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.
    • Extended travel to customer locations may be required to sell and deliver professional services as needed

    Preferred Qualifications

    • AWS Experience
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
    • Intermediate/advanced knowledge of the cloud services, market segments, customer base and industry verticals
    • Prior experience in a technical role within a services organization
    • Understanding of application, server, and network security and compliance requirements such as FedRAMP and HIPAA
    • Demonstrated experience leading or developing high quality, enterprise scale software products using a structured system development lifecycle
    • Experience in one or more specific IoT / embedded / M2M industry (i.e. home automation, business automation, health, asset tracking, smart utilities, etc.)
    • Experience with embedded or real-time operating systems, and/or driver/kernel development
    • Experience programming applications backed by cloud services
