Want to rethink how people discover what videos to watch? The Prime Video personalization team is seeking an experienced product leader who can help us build the most enjoyable and personalized discovery experience for video.

Prime Video is changing the way millions of people interact with video content, such as TV Shows, Movies, Live Sports, and more in over 200 countries and territories. As part of the Prime Video personalization team, you will be responsible for thinking beyond common industry engagement success metrics like ‘daily active users’ and ‘average time spent’ to partner with our UX research and data science teams to develop new methods to measure customer satisfaction. Leveraging these customer experience metrics, you will be responsible for defining the long-term vision and product roadmap of new features, systems, and datasets with the goal of making Prime Video what customers perceive as the best place to watch video.

As a Principal Product Manager for the Prime Video personalization team, you will also be a key contributor in defining the overall PV personalization product roadmap. You will participate in developing its strategy and vision, and will define and manage product roadmaps for one or more engineering teams. This role is inherently cross-functional. You will work closely with engineering, user research, data science, applied science, design, program management, legal, customer service, content acquisition, and executive teams to bring products and features to market to enhance our customer experience.

Successful candidates for this role will have the following:
    • A proven track record of building new, innovative, and engaging customer experiences that are informed by customer data from various sources (market research, internal data bases, A/B testing, user research).
    • Customer focused, highly analytical, resourceful, team oriented, and the ability to work independently under time constraints to meet deadlines.
    • The capability to take on end-to-end ownership of projects and programs and successfully deliver results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.
    • The ability to embrace ambiguity and drive clarity across teams and organizations.

    Basic Qualifications

    • 7-10+ years of software product management, product marketing, and/or business development experience, preferably in a fast-paced online environment
    • Experience in defining, driving and shipping mass market consumer software or services
    • Passion for understanding customers and their behavior, particularly with regard to the digital video space
    • Excellent cross-functional project management skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent quantitative data analysis and critical-thinking skills
    • Bachelor’s degree required

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience delivering digital streaming media
    • Direct experience defining products and roadmaps which deliver simple, immersive customer experiences while dealing with underlying complex technical requirements
    • Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage trade-offs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partners
    • Strong analytic and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions (SQL strongly preferred)
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives
    • Proven ability to deliver results and prioritize tasks in a fast-moving, dynamic environment.
    • Experience managing, analyzing, and communicating relevant results to senior management
    • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, design, and marketing/business counterparts to deliver online products/services
    • MBA or advanced degree in a related field
