Have you ever thought about helping implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems in the Asia Pacific market? Specifically China? Would you like to do this using the latest cloud computing technologies?

The Amazon Web Services team is innovating new ways of building massively scalable distributed systems and delivering the next generation of cloud computing that supports public AWS offerings like S3, EC2, and CloudFront. In 2013, AWS launched 280 services, but in 2016 alone we released nearly 1000. We hold high standards for our computer systems and the services we deliver to our customers: our systems are highly secure, highly reliable, highly available, all while functioning at massive scale; our employees are smart, passionate about the cloud, driven to serve customers, and fun to work with.

As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for developing products and services. You must possess a strategic understanding of business objectives and be creative enough to help define what we build. A strong technical background is required to produce concrete specifications and work closely with engineering to drive implementation. You will have the chance to utilize your experience in platform level products and services to define our product strategy and develop the business with a scope of ownership spanning inbound to outbound product management. You will own product planning in roadmap and feature definition as well as pricing, pricing model innovation, and P&L optimization. You will own marketing in positioning, promotion, and sales enablement. You will work directly with executive leaders of customers and partners of all sizes and segments iterating on our product vision and driving business development. In this role, you will be at the forefront of cloud technologies with interactions across the full breadth of AWS services.

We need business owners who can scale in perspective from strategic vision development with direct interaction with the AWS senior leadership team to tactical product development and sales execution. There are no product requirements documents thrown over the wall to the development team in this business. We value product managers who want to sit with the developers and dig into the details as owners of the service where we define, develop, and ship new services and features in periods measured in months.

The candidate will be passionate about the growth and success of AWS customers. He or she will have succeeded in delivering technology products/services in a high growth environment where priorities shift fast. They are a strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly and compellingly, and who understands how to drive focus and excellence within a strong, talented, and opinionated team.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.
    • 5+ years of experience in product management or product marketing.
    • 3 or more years of experience working with Chinese communities and contractors.
    • Previous experience managing Software-as-a-Service technology products and managed services.
    • Experience working with senior leadership and experience defining and delivering on a product roadmap.
    • Chinese language proficiency.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Understanding of the enterprise services space, particularly managed services and system integration.
    • Experience with building products and services for partners, resellers, managed services providers, and consulting companies
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence others internally and externally
    • Ability to analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, and scope business requirements
    • Ability to deliver initiatives from conception through completion
    • Excellent speaking-listening-writing skills, attention to details, proactive self-starter.
    • Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workloads.
    • Ability to develop new ideas and creative solutions.
    • An MBA or advanced degree in a related field preferred
