The AWS DNS team is seeking enthusiastic and talented Systems Engineers to design, and operate large-scale DNS platforms, configuration management systems and real-time system status APIs. Our team relentlessly focuses on the security, performance, availability and scalability of our Internet-scale services. We build and operate systems that are critical in powering the platforms that Amazon's global retail, AWS and Kindle businesses run upon.
We work on deep, technical problems that span a variety of core topics in computer science ranging from databases to networking to distributed systems to numerical analysis to security. We are looking for a Systems Engineer who feels strongly not only about designing great systems but also about running those systems in the real world.
We run systems that are critical to the platforms that Amazon's global retail, AWS and Kindle businesses run upon -- the DNS services in Amazon's datacenters and integration of Amazon's systems with the likes of Amazon Route 53 to manage public DNS. Our key challenges include reliable delivery of updates, which continually raise the bar on latency, update propagation times, and security of the DNS infrastructure.
Computer Science Bachelor's Degree or at least 5 years equivalent work experience
Comfortable working with Linux, or other Unix operating systems.
Strong Network and Systems troubleshooting skills
Proficient in any of: Java, Perl, Python, Ruby, C/C++.
Obsession with delivering highly available and performant systems that surpass customer expectations.
Experience with agile development methodologies and DevOps environments.
A passion for automation.
Experience with REST, resilient and scalable web services and cloud environments a plus.
