    Alexa is one of Amazon’s most innovative services to date, and has changed the way customers use their voice to interact with technology and the world around them. Building on this momentum, Amazon Digital Products is looking for UI designer to expand Alexa’s visual language and capabilities in order to become a truly ubiquitous service.

    This role is for someone who loves creating visual systems and doing full-stack product design. the role requires high craftsmanship in graphic design. Additional experience in UX design is preferred. In this role you will:
    • Define world-class multi-modal experiences with a cross-org team of visual and voice designers
    • Extend Alexa's visual design language to any and all screen-based devices
    • Mentor junior designers in graphic design skills
    • Work with third-party device makers to customize an Alexa experience on their device
    This role is based in San Francisco, and will require occasional trips to Seattle and other locales.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in a design (graphic, UX, industrial, etc.) or related field
    • 3+ years experience as a UI designer, UX designer, or similar role
    • Experience with Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Keynote
    • Experience creating or extending visual design systems across multiple platforms
    • Experience extending established iconography and illustration sets
    • Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills
    • Experience working with developers to see designs through to implementation
    • Work samples showcasing graphic and systems design work with UX considerations
    • Ability to thrive in ambiguity, work autonomously, and prioritize effectively

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience defining use cases, flows, wireframes, and prototypes
    • Experience in motion design or prototyping
    • Experience with voice-driven product design or conversational interfaces
    • Ability to make cross-organization connections to deliver impact
    • A unique perspective on the future of multi-modal experiences
