    We are looking for a talented and passionate Systems Development Engineer to be part of an exciting new team. You will have an enormous opportunity to make a large impact on the design, architecture, and implementation of cutting edge technologies used in the Amazon data centers. To be successful you need to be flexible and entrepreneurial. You are a true owner - you are passionate about the business and drive relentlessly to optimize and improve our business processes, remove bottlenecks and friction, and allow the business to move at a fast pace. You collaborate with technical program managers, controls engineers and partner teams. You are comfortable with a degree of ambiguity and willing to develop quick proof of concepts, iterate and improve. You create extendable design and easy to maintain solutions with the long term vision in mind.
    Some of the challenges an engineer will be exposed to are
    • Design and implement systems for Building Management Systems

    • Heavily use of AWS services, including AWS IIoT and AWS Greengrass

    • Implementation of key modules that improve data center efficiency

    • Decoupling features from each other and allowing on-demand deployment based on new AWS regions

    Basic Qualifications

    Basic qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.

    • Proficiency in a low-level programming language such as C or C++, and proficiency with higher order languages like Python or Ruby

    • A solid grounding in Computer Science fundamentals (based on a BS or MS in CS or related field)

    • Experience in one or more specific IoT / embedded / M2M industry (i.e. industrial automation, business automation, health, asset tracking, smart utilities, etc.)

    • Experienced driving ambiguous problem areas in existing or new software initiatives

    • Candidate must have good written and oral communication skills, be a fast learner and have the ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced development environment

    • 3-5 years of experience minimal as DevOps or related

    Preferred Qualifications

    Preferred qualifications

    • Experience programming applications backed by AWS services

    • Familiarity providing high-performing, developer-centric tools and frameworks

    • Excellence in technical communication with peers and non-technical cohorts
    • Ability to execute on a feature in agile model and polish the feature iteratively.
    • Experience of working with code repositories like GIT (or similar) and automation of configuration management tasks
    • Experience of using tools to integrate best practices like static code analysis, automated unit tests and integration tests, code coverage analyzers, etc.
    • Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
    • Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
