    The Team: We're an agile, independent team working to build a brand new AWS product. We need developers who are capable of breaking down and solving complex problems. This team will have the opportunity to work on highly visible projects that directly impact hundreds of other teams at Amazon.

    Basic Qualifications

    • BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
    • 10+ years professional experience in commercial/large scale system software development and delivery.
    • 10+ years of experience with object-oriented design and implementation (Ruby, Java, and/or C++), preferably on Linux
    • Expertise in software processes, web services, multi-tiered systems, and enterprise application integration.
    • Advanced knowledge of computer networking and information security.
    • Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databases.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Great communication skills. You’re good at finding new and better ways of communicating and sharing your work, and are always fine-tuning your deliverables for maximum impact.
    • You work smart, developing prototypes at the right level of fidelity for each phase of development, from startup through launch and beyond.
    • Experience building new products and services from the ground up.
    • Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.
    • Deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly.
    • Ability to synthesize requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and facilitate engineering efforts to meet aggressive deadlines.
