    The EC2 Control Plane Capacity team owns the design, building, provisioning and managing the right platforms for all EC2 services worldwide. We are looking for talented and innovative software and system engineers to join us to build the world’s best compute cloud. Responsibilities include working with other teams in AWS to design and to implement software services for EC2 server provisioning; working with other engineers in AWS service teams to improve service scalability and performance.

    Basic Qualifications

    • BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
    • 5+ years of hands on software development in any of these languages: Java/Ruby/C/C++/C#
    • Strong experience with backend software development
    • Strong understanding of DNS, DHCP, TCPIP, Process Automation
    • Fluent communication skills in verbal and written English

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Masters or PhD degree, further education or similar experience in any related computer science or engineering field
    • Knowledge of hypervisors (such as Xen and HyperV)
    • Experience working with Linux operating systems
    • Experience with architecting high scale systems
    • Experience with developing cloud technologies
