Position Overview
This position reports to the Technical Services Manager. The Technical Process Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the quality of digital print assets prior to production; as well as supporting internal teams in researching, resolving, and improving issues and processes for digital files, design & layout, and printing/manufacturing. This person will work with multiple internal teams as well as third party vendors to ensure all quality standards are met. We offer a challenging, stimulating work environment where individuals have the ability to make an immediate impact on improving quality for our customers.

The shift for this position will be 9 AM - 5:30 PM Wednesday - Sunday.

Primary Objectives
  • Works effectively in an ambiguous work environment and communicates effectively with team members
  • Builds effective relationships with other departments and divisions of Amazon
  • Innovates and drives improvement to the customer experience
  • Manages file review teams, provides training and coaching and performs performance audits
  • Supports Customer Service by researching, driving solutions and providing technical answers or solutions in non-technical terms to customer inquiries
  • Performs visual inspection of printed books and technical review of files, fixing errors and identifying areas for improvement
  • Consistently delivers results on improvement projects
  • Maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all areas of responsibility
  • Maintains, delivers and evaluates metrics to facilitate product and process improvements

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS (preferably in a graphics-related field) or associates degree + minimum 5 years of graphics related work experience required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro and InDesign
  • Available to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Ability to work weekends

  • Demonstrated track record of customer obsession
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to complete projects within a given deadline
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize and multitask
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality control
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in creating SOPs and other process documentation
  • Experience with PitStop, Adobe PhotoShop and Illustrator
