Job Description

We are seeking a Metadata Specialist focused on book and copyright metadata for Amazon Publishing, the full-service publishing arm of Amazon. The Metadata Specialist (MS) will be responsible for identifying opportunities to improve existing processes through methods such as audits, and collaborating with team members to define and implement solutions. The MS will also complete copyright registrations, which requires attention to detail, customer obsession, and clear communication with internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to work well with multiple remote teams, a demonstrated ability to understand and troubleshoot technical software and process issues, and a passion for delivering results

Core Job Responsibilities
  • Managing day-to-day activities to ensure catalog/metadata processes run smoothly; includes answering queries from various teams, troubleshooting issues and updating metadata as needed through a variety of internal tools
  • Completing various metadata audits, acting on findings as necessary, and reporting audit progress against goals to support team activities
  • Maintaining Copyright Registration process and execution
  • Working with other Metadata Specialists across APub to identify best practices and apply these learnings to Amazon Publishing

Basic Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office applications, including Excel
  • 1+ year experience in project management or relevant professional experience

  • Expertise in data mining, data management and reporting
  • Experience with publishing operations
  • Experience operating in a global environment
  • Basic SQL skills
  • Experience with Salesforce
