How would you like to have the opportunity to be part of a new AWS service that will have impact across every internet facing product in our platform? We are looking for an exceptional technical program manager to be part of a world class team and own the development of a brand new service.

You should be somebody who is passionate about customers, and running a highly available distributed platform on the Internet. You must enjoy a close-knit team environment of shared responsibility. The ideal candidate will have strong technical background (preferably in distributed systems and networking) and have extensive experience owning the development of cross-organization initiatives.

As part of this team you will:
• Green-field opportunity to create a globally distributed AWS service
• Own scoping, planning and driving execution across numerous AWS services
• Learn what it takes to grow and operate a global business at our scale

Successful candidates will enjoy diving deep into data, have outstanding analytical skills, excellent communication strategies and confident with executive level reviews. You will thrive in a highly collaborative, creative, analytical, and fast-paced environment and are comfortable interacting with highly technical finance, software and networking development teams. You must have the experience and capability to prepare documentation for senior executives and align your roadmap with Amazon’s strategic objectives. This is a highly visible position that will interact at all levels of the AWS business.

Basic Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience developing and delivering on cross-organization project milestones
  • 5+ years’ experience developing organization-wide and customer-centric solutions that drive business decisions and actions
  • Proven track record of being able to learn, develop and implement new technologies, ideas and initiatives
  • Extensive hands-on experience working across multiple disciplines, presenting findings to an executive audience and publishing findings in written format
  • Knowledge of service-oriented architecture, product development (including areas such as C, basic network protocols, and web services), and project management
  • A bachelor's degree in a related technical field

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in technical program and/or technical project management
  • Experience with AWS Services
  • Knowledge and implementation of lean and/or Agile processes
  • 3+ years driving networking projects
