Job Description

Reporting To – Sr. Manager, AWS Training & Certification. This person will be responsible for managing the Western Region of the America’s Training and Certification Business. Responsibilities include managing and mentoring a team of 10-12 instructors, and direct/indirect training programs. You will be responsible for shared P&L management between the Area managed and assigned Training Business Development Manager (BDM).

  • Manage Technical Trainers ensuring that they are developed and utilized across AWS products and Services
  • Manage execution of Training programs for the Western Region.
  • Plan Course Schedules for all Audiences across the US in partnership with other Delivery Managers
  • Work closely with the Sales and Partner Teams to Provide Training proposals for Customers and Partners. This includes the development of Training Order Forms.
  • Work closely with clients and AWS Training BDMs to determine training requirements and build detailed training proposals and plans to accelerate adoption of AWS Services.
  • Maintain a strong relationship with customers to ensure flawless execution of training plans.
  • Occasionally engage with training partners to ensure they have skilled instructors.
  • Manage all surveys and reporting metrics for your delivery organization ensuring quality delivery of AWS courses
  • Engage with Training BDMs to build & maintain a pipeline of training opportunities
  • Prepare and deliver business reviews to senior management.

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree or Equivalent Experience
  • 5+ year’s management, business development and sales experience, preferably in the IT industry.
  • Experience Managing an Education P&L: Financial Management able to effectively manage Cost, Revenue and Margin
  • Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
  • Experience conducting Training Needs Assessments and developing training plans.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Experience engaging and presenting to senior executives (CXO level).
  • Strong commercial experience and business acumen.
  • Business Development Experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience Managing Training and Certification Programs for an IT, Software or Hardware Organization.
  • Experience working with business development professionals.
  • A technical background in engineering or computer science.
  • Knowledge of Amazon Web Services or Cloud Computing concepts.
  • Marketing, operations and training delivery experience.
