Job Description

The Audible Content Discovery & Engagement team is looking for a smart, creative, and results-oriented marketer to manage and enhance the shopping experience for Audible customers on Amazon surfaces (Amazon.com, Fire devices, Alexa) and apps. This will include both day-to-day merchandising of audio content and leadership in defining long-term shopping upgrades that will better serve our customers. The right candidate will demonstrate a creative and editorial mind, strong writing skills, and tireless attention to detail, as well as sound business sense, the ability to work quickly and under pressure, and a knack for getting things done in partnership with other teams. In this role, they will execute editorial and promotional customer-facing campaigns to drive engagement and revenue, pull business data to analyze campaign results, and leverage insights to drive shopping experience upgrades in partnership with Product and Tech. The right candidate will need to approach tasks strategically: how can we scale what’s working, how can we reach the greatest number of well-targeted customers, and – most importantly – how can we maximize customer delight with the Audible service.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deploying content marketing communications and promotions to drive customer engagement and increase long-term member retention
  • Conceiving and creating new content discovery programs and promotions, in keeping with the standards of Audible’s editorial voice
  • Building promotional pages, emails, and action incentives using our proprietary tools
  • Managing the details of highly visible editorial features with an always-on holistic eye to our multi-faceted member experience, which varies by member type, device, and geolocation
  • Curating a thoughtful and zeitgeist-aware discovery experience for our members, with a constant eye to iterating and improving the overall member experience
  • Using data and analytics to inform campaigns, report on results, and drive shopping innovations
  • Lead cross-surface editorial/promotional campaigns and participate in teammates’ campaigns



Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in online marketing/merchandising
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with the proven ability to handle multiple projects and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for books and pop culture, with a strong editorial sense
  • Strong analytical capability and a solid understanding of success metrics
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically
  • Ability to define business requirements for technical partners
  • Proficient in MS Office, with demonstrated ability to pick up new tools
  • Must be a self-starter, creative thinker, and quick learner

Preferred Qualifications

  • E-commerce experience
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in the media industry
  • Basic HTML skills and a general understanding of web development
  • Background in online entertainment
