Job Description

The AWS Commerce Platform (CP) team is focused on enabling developers and software companies to easily distribute, and make money from, their cloud-based products; and enabling consumers of cloud-based software to evaluate, buy, and deploy even the most sophisticated cloud architectures. We are bringing Amazon.com's e-commerce leadership and IP to bear on the cloud computing space, including providing the e-commerce platform on which AWS runs. The systems we build interpret and process a very high volume stream of events (i.e. trillions per day); often bundled with low-latency/real-time analysis to enable security and fraud detection.

The International Expansion team is part of the CP team. The team is responsible for the expansion of the AWS Commerce Platform across new regions and markets for the following core use cases: 1) to drive projects to build new regions 2) to think globally and act locally in delivering the best customer experience in any region, and 3) to make new region expansion repeatable, simple, and faster. We are looking for a talented Product Manager who will effectively collaborate with internal and external customers to define and drive our team initiatives.

In this highly visible role, you will be the business owner, working with your peers and senior management to influence, guide and grow. You possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision as well as the drive and attention to detail that transforms vision into reality.

Major responsibilities:
· Coordinate and manage technical project and program development of large-scale, distributed software applications, systems, platforms, services, or technologies using Object Oriented coding and design throughout the complete software development lifecycle, from design through release.
· Define projects, collect business requirements, and write functional and technical specifications.
· Drive software development efforts and manage priorities for project/program completion, including software application performance tuning.
Create schedules, identify and communicate risks to stakeholders, define risk mitigation strategies, and facilitate appropriate software engineering solutions.
Manage cross-functional teams and/or third party-vendors for implementation of project/program requirements.
