A successful Operations Manager joining the team will do much more than manage infrastructure, tools, and people. They will be leading a team that builds automation and services that make operating a massive large scale distributed system simple and easy. In addition to this, you will be the focal point for owning end-to-end customer experience and will be channeling the requirements to development teams to improve the service performance, scalability and reliability. You will also be in charge of forecasting and managing the end-to-end capacity as well as operating costs of large-scale services such as Aurora database and distributed storage.

Basic Qualifications

- Masters or Bachelors in Computer Science, Mathematics or related field
- Minimum of 10 years technical experience with at least 5 years of management experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience operating mission critical online services
- Experience in a 24/7 production environment
- Understanding of the UNIX/Linux/Windows operating system
- Passion for providing a great customer experience


Preferred Qualifications

- Have experience in an internet operational environment, including multiple data centers and thousands of servers
- Have been successful working across organizational boundaries, bringing together people with diverse perspectives and experience to find solutions
- Have an understanding of storage area networks, virtual machines, networking fundamentals and system troubleshooting
- Knowledge of databases
- Be familiar with OS system administration, utilities and shell scripting as well as Ruby, Perl, Python or other scripting language
- Ideally has an understanding of and can apply statistical analysis
