Job Description

We are looking for a Software Development Manager to lead a team of front-end and backend engineers to own how we display AWS service pricing. In this position, you will lead the creation of a new Simple Monthly Calculator and overhaul our product pricing pages.

Take a look at the existing Simple Monthly Calculator, https://calculator.s3.amazonaws.com/index.html the tool’s UX is aged, the navigation doesn’t scale to AWS’s current product offering, the tool doesn’t help customer understand the complexity of our pricing. If you think the existing tool is great, this isn’t the position for you. On the other hand, if you have a better way to explain: pricing to our customers, how a g2.2xlarge differs from a c3.2xlarge, why you want a Reserved Instance versus Dedicated Host, and have the technical and leadership skills to make it happen please apply.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor in Software Engineer or Computer Science
  • History of delivering web experiences
  • Must be fluent in at least one programming language
  • Strong knowledge of the SDLC
  • Knowledge of software design patterns and data structures
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, grow, and hire engineers
  • 3+ years of professional management experience
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters in Software Engineering or Business Administration
  • Fluency in JavaScript and SASS
  • Has a strong opinion about building on React, Angular, or Vanilla JS
  • Familiarity with LEAN and SCRUM software processes
  • Completed kessel run in less than 12 parsecs
  • Rescued the crew of the Kobayashi Maru on your third attempt
