Job Description

Quidsi is looking for a Senior Web Development Engineer to join our team to help us re-launch our 10 websites. As a WDE, you will use your specialized skills to help deliver the next generation of Quidsi’s ten retail websites. Our WDEs are in constant communication with our creative and business teams and play a pivotal role in influencing our customer experience decisions. Our team follows an Agile approach to software delivery and we deploy our software continuously. With that in mind, candidates who learn quickly, solve problems, insist on writing high quality code and enjoy working in a rapidly changing environment will be the most successful.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or 4+ years of relevant work experience
• Minimum of 4 years of recent real-world experience building best-in-class user experiences
• Minimum of 4 years using JavaScript, CSS3, HTML5 and other web technologies
Preferred Qualifications
• Fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms and problem solving.
• Deep understanding of a range of JavaScript toolkits, alternative tools, and open-source libraries used to deliver rich, creative and effective user experiences on the web
• Ability to deliver outstanding functionality to various consumer devices ranging from desktops to laptops to mobile platforms using technologies like responsive design, browser compatibility and graceful degradation
• Experience working in an agile development environment
• Proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language such as Java, Ruby, C#, Python, etc
• Familiarity with Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
